SUMMARY:RYA VHF SRC Marine Radio Course
DESCRIPTION:The RYA VHF / SRC Radio course is designed to give you the knowledge to use a marine VHF / SRC radio. It is followed by an exam which\, as long as you pass\, will give you a licence to operate a marine VHF radio. The licence is a legal requirement. \nThroughout the day you will get lots of practice using the radio talking to other people\, and will learn the following: \nHow to talk on the radio \nWhat the correct words to use are \nTo operate the functions and message settings \nTo use the radio to get help in emergencies \nWhat other equipment makes up the radio network and how it operates. \nThe course will run from 0900 – 1830. \n\nInstructions\n\nThe course can be intense\, so we ask all students to complete the pre course learning\, which is to be done before your course starts. Links to this are emailed to you after booking. \nTo complete the course and get your license you must pay an additional RYA Admin Fee of £76 (paid directly to the RYA). SUMMARY:RYA Radar Course
DESCRIPTION:The RYA Radar course is suitable for leisure boaters and those working on the water. \nFor those looking to take Yachtmaster exams or who have a radar on board this is essential training. If you have radar on board then it is a requirement under the IRPCS (International Regulation for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea) that you know how to use it. \nIts a one day course and you will look at how radar sets work\, how to use the different adjustments and the implications\, radar reflectors\, plotting and how to use the radar for navigation and collision avoidance. During the course you will use radar simulators to put the theory into practice. \n\n\n\nInstructions\n\nThis course is run by Dorset Marine Training & we will require a min of 6 people to run the course. \n\n\nBook Here
