These notes support safe, considerate, and efficient use of the Haven and pontoons. All berth holders and visitors are expected to follow these guidelines at all times.
Haven Navigation
- Speed Limit: Strictly 3 knots
- Maintain lookout for small craft, paddle craft and dinghies
- Keep right and pass port-to-port
- Give priority to sailing vessels and manoeuvring boats
- Use engine propulsion (no drifting)
- Avoid movement during group dinghy launches
- Signal intentions early and manoeuvre predictably
Berthing & Mooring
Minimum 4 Mooring Lines:
- Two forward lines
- One aft / side line
- One spring line
Support: Yard staff available
Training: [email protected]
Fenders: Required on both sides
Restriction: Do not fix fittings into the pontoon
Services & Safety
Electricity & Water
- Top-ups at Office, Haven Office and Yard
- Transfer credit back to card before leaving
- Drain hoses safely:
- Close pontoon tap
- Open user-end tap
General Safety
- Pontoons may be slippery; proceed with care
- Locate nearest rescue ladders (clearly marked)
- RIBs should berth with engine facing the pontoon where possible
