Membership Fees – Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find answers to common questions about membership types, fees, joining charges, and membership benefits for the 2025/2026 season.
Is there a joining fee?
Yes. A £250 joining fee applies to Full Members aged 31 and over and Associate Members aged over 31.
Do Associate Members under 31 pay a joining fee?
No. Associate Members aged 31 or under are exempt from the £250 joining fee.
Can I upgrade my membership later?
Yes. Members may upgrade their membership at any time during the year.
Any additional fees are prorated, meaning you will only pay the difference for the remaining portion of the membership year.
Are there any credits included with membership?
Yes. Members receive a Levy credit, which is linked to their membership category and can be used on Bar & Catering (B&C) facilities at the club.
Are membership fees refundable if I resign?
Membership subscriptions are non-refundable once paid.
However, in exceptional circumstances, applications for a partial refund may be reviewed by the Management Committee.
Can I suspend my membership for a period of time?
Membership suspensions are not automatically granted.
Requests for temporary suspension due to health, relocation, or other personal circumstances must be submitted in writing to the club office and will be considered by the Management Committee.
How are renewal fees charged?
Annual membership subscriptions are invoiced each October.
Payment must be made within the deadline stated on the invoice.
Can I move from Associate to Full Membership?
Yes. Associate Members may apply to become Full Members.
This process normally includes a membership interview to confirm eligibility.
Can Junior or Youth Members become Full Members later?
Yes.
-
Youth Members (16–23, up to 25 with approval) accumulate “years” that contribute towards future berthing rights when they progress to Full Membership.
-
Junior Members (8–15) may transition into Youth Membership as they get older.
